Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 2, 2026
At TDEE.app, your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of data:
- Usage Data: Interactions with the app such as screen views, time on site, and feature usage.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, screen size, and similar technical data.
- App Inputs (product analytics): When you use features in the TDEE mobile app, the values you submit — for example gender, age, height, weight, body-fat percentage, activity level, selected formula, and macro split — are sent to our analytics provider as event properties. We use these to understand which inputs are common and to improve the product.
- Ad Data: Anonymous information related to advertising performance (e.g., impressions, clicks).
No personally identifiable information. The TDEE app and website do not require an account. We do not collect or attach your name, email address, physical address, phone number, or any account-level identifier to the data above. App-input and usage events are associated only with an anonymous device-generated identifier created by our analytics provider, which cannot be traced back to you by us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to:
- Improve the functionality and performance of TDEE.app
- Understand user behavior and make informed product decisions
- Display relevant ads and measure ad effectiveness
3. Third-Party Services
Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect:
- Device identifiers
- Ad interactions (clicks, impressions)
- Location-based data (if enabled)
You can manage your ad preferences via your device settings.
PostHog
We use PostHog to understand how users interact with the app. PostHog collects anonymized usage data such as:
- Page views
- Feature clicks
- Session duration
No personal or sensitive information is collected or stored.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We may use cookies or similar technologies to:
- Save preferences
- Improve site functionality
You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may impact some app features.
5. Data Security
We use standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and fulfil the purposes described in this policy. Specific retention periods vary by data type:
- On-device app data: Information you enter into the TDEE mobile app — including body metrics, calorie targets, macro splits, custom diets, and appearance preferences — is stored locally on your device. It is retained until you delete it within the app, clear the app's storage from your device settings, or uninstall the app. We do not transmit or back this data up to our servers.
- Subscription and purchase data: Purchase records and entitlement state for TDEE Pro are managed by Google Play Billing (Android) and the App Store (iOS). These platforms retain transaction data in accordance with their own policies and your account settings.
- Analytics data (PostHog): Anonymized product usage events are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are aggregated or deleted. PostHog's own retention policy applies in addition.
- Advertising data (Google AdMob): Data used to serve and measure ads is retained by Google in accordance with its retention policies. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings at any time.
- Website cookies and logs: Preference cookies remain until you clear them in your browser. Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse prevention.
If you would like us to delete any data we hold about you, contact [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
